Crye-Leike Congratulates Wendy Dixon On Being Named As A Top Agent In Chattanooga

Hosting Open Houses Since Age 15 Has Helped Lead Her To A Successful Real Estate Career

Chattanooga, Tennessee., – After more than five years spent working with and helping hundreds of buyers and sellers achieve all of their real estate goals, Chattanooga Realtor Wendy Dixon has another great accomplishment to add to her long, successful career.

Wendy was recently selected as one of the top Realtors in Chattanooga when she was named as one of Chatter Magazine’s “Top 20 Under 40” real estate agents.

“I am honored to be included in the elite team of Chattanooga’s Top 20 under 40. It’s refreshing to be acknowledged for working hard, especially when I love the work I do,” said Wendy. “Meeting and talking to new people is a passion of mine and helping new families in town find the perfect place to call home is a perfect career fit for me.”

Even though Wendy only became a licensed Realtor in 2006, she has been helping host open houses since she was 15. Real Estate has always been a part of Wendy’s life since her dad was a builder in the industry.

“I have been selling homes for my dad, who is a builder, since I was 15 years old,” said Wendy. “I conducted open houses, just for fun, it was a weekend event, in my hometown of Avon Park, FL, where my dad co-founded/developed Orangewood Acres subdivision.”

As a graduate of UTC in 1996 with her B.S. in Legal Studies, Wendy and her husband always loved Chattanooga when attending college there. They both chose to return to Chattanooga to raise their children. After leaving a Family Construction business in Florida, building and selling homes was what Wendy and her husband did best.

“When we returned here, my husband Herby, a General Contractor, announced one of us needed to get licensed in Real Estate so we could buy land and sell his homes as he built them,” said Wendy. “We flipped a coin and it was decided I would be the one to get a real estate license first.”

Although Wendy has been Crye-Leike’s #1 top producer for 3 years in a row despite a difficult housing market, Wendy remembers a time when she struggled to make enough money in real estate to cover her family’s monthly bills.

“Although I started selling homes immediately, the economy and market was in a very weak state and the need for new homes was low,” said Wendy. “In addition, our home in Florida was not selling and I desperately needed to produce income. I worked hard handing out cards, sending mailings and trying to convince all my friends and family that I had what it took to help them buy or sell their home.”

Wendy’s dedication and determination to be successful in real estate pulled her through the tough times and lead her to being one of Crye-Leike’s top Chattanooga agents who’s already accomplished her 5th year as a multi-million dollar producer selling between 40-45 homes each year.

“I would have to say my secret to success is treating all of my clients like family and striving to always answer their phone calls and e-mails promptly. And prayer – If I didn’t have prayer, I wouldn’t have anything,” said Wendy.

Wendy remembers her first sale as it was yesterday and still five years later has the same excitement when her phone rings and she hears a client has passed her name along recommending her services.

“The first home I sold in Chattanooga was to a dear High School friend, who loves to tell the story of how a tripped over people and ran across the room to hand her my business card when I overheard her say she was planning to buy a home,” said Wendy. “I was SO EXCITED when she said yes and was so pleased when her home closed. It’s still a rush and a challenge to help someone find a home because I have a passion for homes and a passion for what I do.”

Wendy adds, “It only took me 12 years after college to find out what it was that I love to do and sure enough the success has followed. Funny how when we accidently end up somewhere, it sometimes is the best decision of our lives!”

Now, Wendy works with her husband Herby based out of Crye-Leike’s Ooltewah branch office as the Dixon Team. Crye-Leike Realtor Stephanie Arnold recently joined their team as well. They assist buyers and sellers in and around Hamilton and Bradley counties specializing in all types of residential real estate sales.

Wendy is also a licensed Realtor in Georgia, and she’s a member of the River Counties Association of Realtors (RCAR), the Tennessee Association of Realtors (TAR), and the National Association of Realtors (NAR).

“I have lived in ten cities in my 38 years of life, from California to Florida, and I can honestly say that there is no city I love more than Chattanooga!” said Wendy. “It has everything you could ever want in town and most importantly amazing people! It makes my job so much easier to sell homes here and honestly say I love where I live.”
