Leadership Training Helps Memphis Realtor Remain Focused

MEMPHIS, TN., – As monthly home sales data continues to challenge even the most seasoned real estate industry veterans, one Memphis Realtor has found a way to channel the ups and downs.

Crye-Leike’s Frances Anderson, a Realtor for ten plus years, has found comfort and a new-found focus through the Tennessee Association of Realtors (TAR) Leadership Development program.

“Our industry has definitely faced some challenges and difficult times in the past few years,” said Anderson. “To move forward with effective and wise leadership is a must.”

Anderson was among a dozen Realtors who chose to participate in the 2010 TAR leadership class. She was exposed to a variety of leadership development strategies over the course that included several retreats along with classroom training.  Anderson says the focus was on learning the qualities and traits of effective leaders and leadership styles and then adapting those skills to become better at addressing the challenges that Realtors, Realtor Associations, and TAR is now facing.

“I have never been one to sit back and do nothing,” said Anderson. “I have always believed in jumping in and being a part of an industry that I love.”

As most professionals find their personal and professional lives overlapping more and more, Anderson too feels a special calling now to follow her new leadership instincts to act, speak up and create an example for others to follow.

“I feel that this is a great accomplishment that has and will prepare me for leadership within my association as well as in my life,” said Anderson. “I have always strived to be a voice in my real estate community, and I feel that to whom much is given – much is required.”

Anderson says many of those who have completed the TAR Leadership program over the years have gone on to serve as association presidents, directors and committee chairs. She looks forward to following in their footsteps by assuming more leadership roles.

“I am honored to be a graduate of Leadership TAR and I encourage others to discover the powers within,” said Anderson. ?We must all look ahead and examine ourselves for our industry and associations. It’s a journey we should all be open to take.”

A formal graduation ceremony will be held (Setember16th) in Memphis to recognize Anderson and her colleagues with a special pin and certificate during the fall TAR Director’s meeting.
