Columbia Realtor Proves You?re Never Too Old To Start Over And Succeed
COLUMBIA, TN., – With more than four years of experience helping buyers and sellers in real estate sales, Affiliate Broker Ken Banks would be the first to consider himself a relative newcomer. But from the looks of his rapid accession among his peers in Southern Middle Tennessee, Ken might just agree he’s taken well to the business.
“After losing a career job after eleven years in another field, I went full time with Crye-Leike just two years ago,” said Banks. Taking on new beginnings in real estate during such economically turbulent times proved challenging, and to be honored in this way is invigorating.
At this year’s annual Southern Middle Tennessee Association of Realtors (SMTAR) dinner celebration and awards ceremony – Banks was honored with the President’s Award. It’s one of the highest honors bestowed on an associate by the regional Realtor group.
“This award is given in recognition of dedication and leadership as a member and the recipient is selected based on their willingness to support the President in the activities of SMTAR,” said Banks. “I was very surprised to receive this recognition and honor. To be recognized in this way by the President of a professional organization with several hundred members means a lot.”
Joining Banks as a fellow President’s Award recipient is incoming SMTAR president Fay Robinson of Carvell Realty and Aubrey Tycer of Tycer Home Inspections of Pulaski.
For Ken Banks 2009 was also the year he successfully participated and graduated from the SMTAR Leadership Academy – in which he also acted as the group’s spokesperson. Now in its 2nd year – the Leadership Academy offers Realtors training in organizational structure, parliamentary procedure and political action.
