Crye-Leike’s Becky Meagher Completes Half Iron Man Triathlon, Achieves A 3rd Place Finish And Raises Over $3,800 For The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
As a Realtor, an athlete and active fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Becky Meagher has once again proven there are no limits as she competed and was a top finisher in the Gulf Coast Triathlon Half Iron Man - May 9, 2009 - in Panama City Florida.

NASHVILLE, TN., – Competing in her 8th Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Team in Training event in May 2009? Crye-Leike, REALTORS Broker Becky Meagher shows no signs of slowing down.

As an athlete and an active fundraiser for the Society she once again has proven there are no limits as she competed and was a top finisher in the Gulf Coast Triathlon Half Iron Man – May 9, 2009 – in Panama City Florida.

Becky not only finished the longest triathlon she has ever competed in – she achieved a 3rd place finish in her age group (60-64yrs) in a time of eight hours and 15 minutes.  She fundraised more than $3,800 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society increasing her total dollars raised for the charity since 2003 to more than $26,000.

“It was thrilling to participate in the longest distance triathlon I’ve ever attempted,” said Becky.  “The night before the race I was inspired also by a speech given by one of my sister team mates.  She is a cancer survivor who has endured chemo therapy and now is in remission.”

Becky attacked the daylong event in Panama City, Florida. She swam a distance of 1.2 miles in the ocean, 56 miles on bicycle and ending with a 13.1 mile run.

The bicycle Becky rode during the competition took on special significance.  She invited donors to honor survivors, those who continue fighting the blood cancer diseases and those who have lost the battle – by giving her their names that she placed in an area of honor on her bicycle.

“I’m so grateful that I am blessed with good health, thoroughly enjoy endurance sports and can raise money for such a good cause all at the same time,” said Becky.  “Many of my donors are past clients who dutifully year after year give generously.”

In real estate – for more than two decades – Becky has been assisting buyers and sellers in and around Davidson, Williamson and Cheatham counties. She is a licensed Broker in Tennessee specializing in all types of residential real estate sales.

Becky is an Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) and the recipient of the Lifetime Excellence Silver Award and Community Service Award from the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors (GNAR). Becky is a member of GNAR, Tennessee Association of Realtors (TAR) and National Association of Realtors (NAR).

And there’s just no stopping Becky.  On June 9, 2009 she was once again among a field of competitors – and took 2nd Place in the “Mach Tenn” Sprint Triathlon held in Tullahoma, Tennessee.  Becky has plans on compete in two more endurance events over the summer.
