FAYETTEVILLE, AR., – Crye-Leike, REALTORS is proud to announce that Associate Broker John Hagberg has earned the National Association of Realtors (NAR) GREEN designation.  The distinction, according to the NAR, is the definition of green professionalism, excellence and leadership for today’s real estate practitioner.


“As energy costs rise along with concern for the environment, homeowners are looking for innovative ways to save money and live responsibly,” said John.  “This education goes hand in hand with Fayetteville and Northwest Arkansas identity as the “Green Valley,” bringing companies into the area that focus on clean tech, sustainable, earth friendly and GREEN collar jobs.”


John achieved this designation after completing 18 hours of course work designed specifically for Realtors? focusing on the principles of energy efficiency, sustainability, and tips for conservation, ensuring designees gain comprehensive knowledge of green homes and buildings and issues of sustainability in relation to real estate.  More specifically John has an understanding of smart building practices, helping clients evaluate the cost/benefits of green building features and practices, listing and marketing green homes and buildings, discussing the financial grants and incentives available to homeowners, and helping consumers see a property’s green potential.

According to John, the Fayetteville Economic Development Council and its Green Valley Network is currently coordinating efforts with numerous environmentally friendly Swedish companies with proven technology that could benefit from a much larger centrally located U.S. market which Fayetteville offers.


Since 1993 John has been a licensed Realtor assisting buyers and sellers and works with clients primarily in Washington and Benton counties.  He specializes in all types of residential real estate sales with a focus on investment properties, lake properties, farms & land.  John is an Internet Professional Realtor (e-PRO), member of the Metro Board of Realtors, Arkansas Realtors Association and National Association of Realtors and remains active in the Farmington Chamber of Commerce, Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce and Fayetteville’s Green Valley Network.
