Crye-Leike, REALTORS congratulates Affiliate Broker Karen Thompson on being Honored with the Outstanding Woman in Business Award for 2009

Memphis, TN., – Crye-Leike, REALTORS is proud to congratulate Affiliate Broker Karen Thompson on receiving the Outstanding Woman in Business Award for 2009 at the annual Women in Business luncheon. Karen is a Sales Associate with Crye-Leike based out of the company’s branch office in Atoka, Tennessee, located at 13690 Highway 51 South.

 

“It feels good to know that there are friends around you who notice what you do and want others to see it,” said Karen. “I am honored to receive the award and am grateful to have the time and energy to put into my real estate career and the many other jobs that God has called me to do. That’s what keeps me going.”

 

Karen was presented with the 2009 Outstanding Woman in Business Award because of her dedication to the real estate business and for the many charitable activities and organizations that she helps volunteering her time to aide the community.

 

“Our Agent Karen Thompson received this award in recognition of her dedication to her career in real estate always making herself available to her clients and practicing the golden rule,” said Crye-Leike’s Atoka Managing Broker Nancy Carroll. “Karen meets everyone with a smile and her laughter always brightens our office.”

 

For the past 8 years, Karen has served as the Communications Coordinator for the Area 1 United Methodist Disaster Response Team. She has volunteered her time helping people get back on their feet from numerous natural disasters. Karen has assisted people through several local tornado disasters, the “Hurricane Elvis” storm that occurred in Memphis in 2003, and she made several trips to the Gulf Coast after “Hurricane Katrina” struck. Most recently, Karen traveled to Paducah, Kentucky and lent a helping hand to assist in the clean-up after the ice storm.

 

“When I go to a disaster my first thoughts are always, ?wow’ how in the world are we ever going to make this right again?,” said Karen. “But then we start working and others show up and start working and before we know it we have finished cleaning up the disaster and can move on to the next one.”

 

In addition to her involvement in various disaster relief efforts, Karen is very active in her church, First United Methodist in Millington, serving in the Stephen Ministry. From 2000 until 2008, Karen participated in Relay for Life.

 

“Karen’s unselfish nature is evident in the things she chooses to become involved in helping others around her with their challenges,” said Crye-Leike General Manager Steve Brown. “My hats off to Karen for this award and my praise for her and her efforts can’t be too generous.”

 

Karen is a full-time licensed Realtor in Tennessee assisting buyers and sellers in and around Shelby and Tipton counties. She specializes in residential real estate. Karen is a member of the Memphis Area Association of Realtors (MAAR), the Tennessee Association of Realtors (TAR), the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and Crye-Leike’s Multi-Million Dollar Club.

 

From 2005 to 2006, Karen served as Secretary for the Millington-Tipton Realtors Association and in 2007 she served as the association’s Vice President. Karen is a 20 year resident of the Millington, Tennessee.
