Crye-Leike Norcross Names Realtor Joan Macaluso Sales Manager

NORCROSS, GA., – Crye-Leike, REALTORS has named experienced REALTOR Joan Macaluso as Sales Manager for its NEW Norcross, Georgia Branch sales office, located at 4870 Peachtree Industrial Blvd.   She is seeking other experienced and motivated agents to join the sales team.  Joan hopes to recruit 30-to-50 quality Realtors by the end of 2009 and continue the office growth in agents and production into 2010.

“I am glad Crye-leike selected me as its Norcross Sales Manager and I will make certain the right agents come on board to promote and grow this fantastic brand,” said Joan.  “I have always been drawn to and flourished in more intimate environments and I am impressed with Crye-Leike, REALTORS corporate environment with a family atmosphere.”

Joan looks to grow the Norcross branch office in market share – not only providing service to buyers and sellers in Norcross and Peachtree Corners – but also in Tucker, Chamblee, Lawrenceville, Lilburn, Duluth and into North Atlanta, Sandy Springs and Dunwoody.

“As Sales Manager, my goal is to recruit quality agents that conduct business with integrity – always making the Golden Rule the guide,” said Joan.  “I’m interested in agents who did $1.5-million or greater in annual sales in 2008 as well as some newly licensed agents. I will share my years of experience and any insight into today’s market to help each agent be successful in their business plan.”

Joan started in the real estate business as an assistant, learning the back-end of the business for two top producing Realtors before striking-out on her own.  She is a Co-founder of The Jody & Joan Team with Bo Bridgeport Brokers and from 2003 – 2006 closed more than 100 home sale transactions annually with a sales volume in excess of $17-million.  Joan later moved on to form Intown Focus, LLC? and looks to become Crye-Leike’s “InTown Expert.”

“I would like the New Norcross office to reflect the diversity of Atlanta,” said Joan.  “I welcome any agent who’s considering a move and change or who’s looking for a home to start their business to consider Crye-leike Norcross to create true synergy and share their experience.”

You could say the business has been in Joan’s blood since birth given that her father was a general contractor.  She has been in homes being renovated since she was a small child and has always loved seeing people’s dream come to fruition.

“I wanted to be a Realtor when I was 13 but I think the negative stereotypes kept me from the business,” said Joan.  “Finally at age 34 I realized I needed a career I could love so I pursued my real estate license.”

Joan is a licensed Realtor in Georgia assisting buyers and sellers in and around Fulton, DeKalb, Gwinnett, Clayton and Cobb counties.  She specializes in all types of residential real estate sales with a focus on first-time homebuyers and sellers.

“I have represented builders, investors, banks, buyers and sellers? and I have sold plenty of new homes, foreclosures and re-sales as well as a few land and commercial sales,” said Joan.  “I love to help people get a great value while finding a home to express themselves and live their lives.  My clients feel very comfortable with me and appreciate the care I take in considering their needs and negotiating with their best interest in the forefront.”

Joan has been a Certified New Homes Specialist since 2001 and is an active member of the Atlanta Board of Realtors (ABR) and National Association of Realtors (NAR).  She is the 2009 Newsletter Editor of the College Park Arts Council and with the City of East Point she served as a Planning and Zoning Commissioner 2003-06 and Business and Industrial Development Authority (BIDA) Commissioner 2006-08.  Joan has been an annual recipient of the Multi-Million Dollar Club Award since 2001 and is frequently recognized as one of the region’s top sales producers in local news and Realtor trade publications.

“I like to get to know each agent and their business model, so I know what drives them and how best to assist them in meeting their goals and creating smooth transactions with repeat clients who also refer business,” said Joan.  “If we take ourselves and client emotions out of the deal and break it down into basic components we can be the catalyst for positive experiences.”

Joan is a Buffalo, New York native who has lived in the Atlanta region since 1993 and currently resides in East Point. She has a BA in English with a minor in Labor Relations from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, New York.  Joan also attended State College of New York at Buffalo for ceramic design and spent several years working part-time as a potter and pottery teacher.

“When I moved to Atlanta I lived in Doraville, then in Virginia-Highlands, Ormewood Park and now East Point,” said Joan.  “I love the intown neighborhoods for the eclectic people and how they express themselves through their homes – paint colors, gardens and other unique ornate decorations.”

Joan shares her home in East Point with two dogs Rufus (Akita Shepard Mix, 11yrs) and Josie (Black Lab-Chow Mix, 2yrs) and two domestic shorthair cats Remy (15) and Miriam (5). She is the founder of the East Point Book Club and finds personal enjoyment in reading, playing tennis, cooking, baking and spending quality time with Rufus and Josie.
