Crye-Leike, REALTORS Jumpstarts 2009 With Kick-Off Meetings To Award Top Selling Producers And Motivate Agents For The New Year

Nashville, TN., – Crye-Leike, REALTORS launches 2009 with its annual Kick-Off meetings. Each January, the company holds a meeting in each region it serves including Memphis, Nashville, Chattanooga, Atlanta, Little Rock and Northwest Arkansas. The meeting is a time for company managers to award top selling producers and motivate agents for the new year.

Despite a tough housing market in 2008, Crye-Leike carried on the tradition and began 2009 with its annual Kick-Off meetings congratulating agents on 25, 871 homes sold and 4.2 billion in sales company wide.

“The market’s not what it was a year ago but there is still a lot of real estate moving,” said Crye-Leike President and Cofounder Dick Leike. “Some agents actually did better in 2008 improving their sales totals over what they sold in 2007.”

Leike offered additional words of encouragement to agents saying, “We’ve been through tough times in the past, and we will come out of this market stronger than before. We are going to make it happen.”

“Attitude is important to success in the real estate business,” said Leike. “Agents can be out there selling but if their attitude isn’t right then they won’t be successful.

Although 2008 brought Crye-Leike one of the most challenging housing markets the company has ever seen since opening its doors in 1977, company leaders are hopeful the real estate market will improve in 2009.

“We are calling 2009 a workout year for real estate expecting the market to pick up as early as May or June,” said Crye-Leike CEO and Cofounder Harold Crye. “With banks cutting builders back there is not a whole lot of new construction going on right now. We expect to see a shortage of homes in 2010 which will drive home values back up.”

Crye-Leike, REALTORS optimism for the 2009 housing market is reflected in the company’s plans and goals for the new year. With a belief that the U.S. economy will begin to recover and with interest rates at a historical low, Crye-Leike decided to increase its sales volume goals in each region over goals the company set for 2008.

“I have been in this business since I was 17 and haven’t seen interest rates like we have now since 1960,” said Leike. “With the interest rates we have today now is such a great time to invest in a home, and we are optimistic that more people will realize this in 2009.”

To meet their increased sales goals, Crye-Leike has many plans to grow its business.

“Buyers are going to the web to search for a house more and more these days, so we plan to continue enhancing our web presence and encourage agents to enhance their web visibility,” said Crye. “We also plan to accommodate competitors having to close their doors and offer their agents a safe haven with our company.”

At the meetings for each region, Crye-Leike recognizes its Top 25 Sales Producers and Top Producers for each branch office during the past year.  The individuals honored achieved the highest volume of sales for the company in the previous year.

During Crye-Leike’s annual kick-off meetings, the company takes a moment to honor some of its best agents with Crye-Leike’s most prestigious award, the Diamond Circle of Excellence Award.
