BRENTWOOD, TN., – Over the past several weeks, dozens of Crye-leike, REALTORS agents have been spending some of their free time lending a hand on a very special Habitat for Humanity Home Build project in Spring Hill, Tennessee. In partnership with The Jones Company, the agents and builders are constructing the first “GREEN” Habitat home ever built in Tennessee.

“We started construction Thanksgiving week,” said Chip Kerr, Director of Builder Resources for Crye-Leike, REALTORS.  “What’s really exciting is the fact this is the only GREEN home for Habitat to be built in Tennessee and the second known GREEN project for the home building agency in the country.”

The “GREEN” standards in the home’s construction involve using only GREEN suppliers and manufactures of building materials.  In addition, only ENERGY STAR? products and appliances are being installed to make the home run as “GREEN” and affordable as possible for its new homeowners.

“We remain firmly committed to Habitat for Humanity and look forward to building the home to meet our “GREEN” standards,” said Richard Chapman, President and partner of The Jones Company.  “Both of these initiatives are important to me and my team and we are grateful for the opportunity to make a difference to our community and the environment with Crye-Leike’s involvement.

Crye-Leike and the Jones Company are sharing the expense on building materials and agents are eagerly stepping up to supply the manpower.  The partnership represents a $70,000 shared corporate commitment, with support from supplier sponsors and volunteers. The Jones Company and Crye-Leike made a multi year commitment to Habitat for Humanity.

“In these challenging times for many families, it’s important for us all to stay focused and continue investing in our neighborhoods and communities,” said Harold Crye, Cofounder and CEO of Crye-Leike, REALTORS.  “The U.S. housing market is one of the foundations of our economy and we’re extremely proud of our association with Habitat for Humanity and The Jones Company to help people achieve the dream of owning a home.”

The new homeowners will be Rockeya Turner and her four children, Arrionna (7), Asharria (4), Keelan (3), and Khaliah (9 months).  Rockeya was born in Franklin and graduated from Franklin High School.  They are active members at Limestone Missionary Baptist Church.

The Jones Company at has been in business for more than 80 years, and has built nearly 3000 homes in Middle Tennessee since 1995.  The company offers a variety of home collections starting with the $200,000 “first move up” home to homes in excess of $600,000.  Every single family Jones home is now tested by an independent third party verifier and must pass the stringent guidelines set forth by National Association of Home Builder’s GREEN Building Program and ENERGY STAR?.
