MEMPHIS, TN., – Crye-Leike, REALTORS Accounting Department is holding a Benefit Yard Sale featuring brand new ornaments, Webkinz stuffed animals, picture frames, Christmas cards and much more with all proceeds to benefit Youth Villages.  The one-day sales event will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2008 from 7am – 12 noon at 7102 Golden Oaks Look W. in Southaven.

“Through out the year we receive amazing merchandise and items that we sell or auction off to benefit Youth Villages,” said Lynda Drake, Crye-Leike Accounting Manager and Event Coordinator.  “The Yard Sale is just one more way we can help people get a head start on their Christmas shopping for wonderful gifts at a great bargain, all while helping a worthy cause.”

Already in 2008 Crye-Leike’s Accounting Department has raised nearly $10-thousand dollars for Youth Villages.  And during the holidays, the division’s fundraising goes into high gear.

“We are working hard to raise money for a wonderful cause,” said Brooke McCarter from the Crye-Leike Accounting Department. “Times are tough and charitable organizations are feeling the poor economy more than most.  There are several of us within the Accounting Department that donate a lot of time and effort to ensure we raise as much as possible during these times.”

Later this month the Crye-Leike Accounting Department will hold its 5th Annual Silent Auction & Raffle to benefit Youth Villages.  The event will feature an Autographed Grizzlies Basketball and Titans Football, Premium Grizzlies Tickets for the December 5th game against the LA Clippers, 2009 Memphis Tiger Season Tickets and much more.  It gets underway in the Main Lobby of Crye-Leike’s Corporate Headquarters Wednesday, November 19th through Saturday, November 22nd located at 6525 Quail Hollow in Memphis.

“Last year’s auction raised more than $12-thousand dollars for Youth Villages, and we hope to raise even more this year for this worthwhile organization,” said Lynda. “Many of the donated items come from Amit’s Hallmark Store in Trinity which has been a wonderful partner with us in the auction and raffle event the past five years.”

Items will be displayed beginning Wednesday, November 19th through Saturday, November 22nd in the Main Lobby of the Crye-Leike Corporate Headquarters on Quail Hollow.  On Saturday the 22nd, following a day of pictures with Santa, a Cake Walk and children’s face painting at 2:00pm the silent auction will close and the raffle will take place.

Youth Villages helps more than 11-thousand troubled children and their families each year in Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and the District of Columbia.  Youth Villages offers many programs to families and children including; residential, foster care, home based treatment, group homes, adoption and a center for intensive residential treatment.

The agency’s goal is to get a child in crisis in less than one hour, de-escalate the crisis and determine the best place for the child at the time.  These practices save taxpayers’ money as well as the lives of children.
