CRYE-LEIKE, REALTORS SMYRNA BRANCH OFFICE RAISES $1,773 TO BENEFIT CYSTIC FIBROSIS AT THEIR 5TH ANNUAL CHILI COOK-OFF COMMUNITY FUNDRAISER
SMYRNA, TN.- Crye-Leike, Realtors is proud to announce that the company’s Smyrna branch office raised $1,773.41 at their 5th Annual Chili Cook-Off community fundraiser. Each year the office selects a different cause for the fundraiser to benefit, and this year’s proceeds will go to help the Rutherford County Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The inspiration for this year’s event was young Tate Lenfant, the son of Crye-Leike Smyrna Sales Associate Tracey Lenfant. Tate has Cystic Fibrosis (CF), a hereditary disease affecting the mucus glands of the lungs, liver, pancreas and intestines causing a progressive disability. Tate was in attendance at the cook-off to share his own personal experience living with the condition and how it affects his life everyday.
On Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008 from 11:00am – 1:00pm the community came together in the front parking lot of the Smyrna Crye-Leike office located at 599 Sam Ridley Parkway West and enjoyed more than a dozen homemade chili recipes, soup, hotdogs, snacks, and desserts with lunch tickets costing $5.00.
Agents and employees cooked up steaming crock pots full of chili and soup hoping to be the winner of the best chili recipe. Tonya Greer was this year’s Smyrna Chili Cook-Off winner.
“We had outside help from the public this year and would like to say a special thanks to Tina and Bill Creighton, Chris Maguire, Wanda Woodard, and Marty Luffman who helped make chili, fried pickles, and supplied a popcorn machine,” said Agent Cindy Speer. “We appreciate everyone who came out to support our cause this year.”
Since one of the Smyrna office’s Crye-Leike family members has Cystic Fibrosis, they were truly inspired by his courage and wanted to help make a difference. In addition to great chili they had a silent auction with great gifts and merchandise people bid on to help raise funds for the Rutherford County Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
