Helping Hands founder & Realtor Lynn McDonald & Crye-Leike, REALTORS Fairview Managing Broker Sheree Rudd

FAIRVIEW, TN, – Crye-Leike, REALTORS congratulates Realtor Lynn G. McDonald as a Good Neighbor Award recipient by REALTOR Magazine.  The 2008 Certificate of Appreciation from the publication acknowledges Lynn’s dedication to community service and specifically for her “Helping Hands” outreach ministry, which she started in 2005.

“It is an honor to be recognized for my work with Helping Hands,” said Lynn.  “I am presently awaiting word on getting Helping Hands set-up full time.  Helping Hands, United Way, Second Harvest Food Bank and FCAP are working together on a partnership to allow the non profit ministry to function full-time in Fairview.”

Lynn says she has pledges from supporters of her ministry to build-out with shelving, freezers, food and more but she says they must have enough funds or pledges for the rent for a year.

“With the economy as it is right now there is such a need,” said Lynn. “A few weeks ago we had a clothing and food giveaway and we helped a total of 380 people, which amounted to assistance for 94 families. A lot of what we had to hand-out we received funds from a yard sale that enabled us to purchase school supplies for children whose parents are unable to make ends meet much less buy their children supplies that are needed.”

In February 2008 when violent storms and tornadoes struck Middle Tennessee and the Fairview community, Lynn and several volunteers from the Fairview Community Church gathered up clothing and relief supplies for immediate distribution.

“We took everything we had to the Tool Box in Fairview and owners Richard and Deborah Lovett opened up their seven thousand square foot warehouse for donations,” said Lynn.  “We were blessed with so many donations of water, toiletries, totes, tarps, clothing, shoes, furniture, toys and more.”

In 2005 Lynn and a friend started the outreach and since then, four times a year, they have put together clothing give-a-ways where they distributed what they had to those in need.  Lynn takes the donations to her basement, sorts them by gender and size, and places them in totes so we can quickly get them out to people in the event of a sudden disaster.

“It takes weeks of work to collect the clothes, sort through them, set up and then tear down and every minute of work is worth it even if only one person is helped,” said Lynn.  “I am so blessed to be a part of this ministry and I am looking forward to seeing where God is taking this ministry.”

Lynn has enjoyed her relationship as a Realtor with Crye-Leike since 2002, and assists buyers and sellers in and around Williamson County.  She is a residential real estate specialist with a focus on new home construction.  She is a member of the Williamson County Association of Realtors (WCAR), the Tennessee Association of Realtors (TAR) and the National Association of Realtors (NAR).

“It is a pleasure and honor to have Lynn McDonald as part of our Fairview Crye-Leike office sales team,” said Fairview Managing Broker Sheree Rudd.  “Lynn has taken it upon herself to start a local community outreach program and over the years she has touched the lives of hundreds of individuals and families in our community and beyond.”

Lynn is a Realtor in the company’s Fairview Tennessee branch office located at 2239 Fairview Blvd., Suite 100.  For all your Real Estate needs, personal referrals or to learn more about the “Helping Hands” Outreach Ministry call Lynn at 615-799-6288 or you can email her at
