MURFREESBORO, TN., – Crye-Leike, REALTORS Sales Associates in Murfreesboro are “Going to the Dogs for PAWS” (Pet Adoption & Welfare Services) in an effort to encourage more people to adopt unwanted pets.  The public is invited to join with Realtors to celebrate pet adoption at the company’s Broad Street office in Murfreesboro on Friday June 20, 2008 from 11:00am – 3:00pm.

“For a minimum of just a $2-dollar donation, everyone who drops by on Friday June 20th can enjoy a delicious grilled hotdog, chips and a drink and join with us in celebrating pet adoption,” said Realtor and PAWS event organizer Kathy Smith.”  “This day is also a celebration of “National Take Your Dog To Work” day so we’ll all have our own fury friends around for the day and joining in the fun, and any pet owner has to love that.”

Crye-Leike, REALTORS Sales Associate Kathy Smith along with Realtor Kelly Pelchat are leading the cause in the company’s Broad Street office in Murfreesboro.  They are passionate about pet adoption and will have their own four legged best friends there for folks to meet.  Associate Smith points out that the need is huge based on the fact that the local shelter accepts between 30 and 60 unwanted animals a day and 47% of those are surrendered by their owners.

“In addition to a monetary donation, we also want people to know we have a wish list of items that are always needed at the local shelter that we will be collecting,” said Smith.  “Those include dry & canned cat and dog food, cat litter, dog & cat toys and treats, “fun material” for bandanas and ideally an adopted family to rescue a pet and give them a home forever.”

A representative from PAWS will be on hand during the event to answer questions and assist individuals and families who are considering pet adoption or need information regarding spay/neutering our pets.  Home Again micro-chipping information will also be available.

The Crye-Leike, REALTORS Broad Street office is located at 1139 NW Broad Street between Demos’ and Chef Wang’s.  Associates Smith and Pelchat and other associates look forward to seeing many animal lovers and their pets on Friday, June 20th and plenty of support for PAWS.

“The shelter has a 187 cage capacity and some of those cages are doubles and many are shared,” said Smith.  “Since July 1st of 2007 the shelter has accepted 8,157 unwanted animals, so we have a real opportunity to help those who are surrendered and promote adoption to animal lovers with a place for a new fury friend in their lives.”
