Crye-Leike Blood Drive Open to Public: Needed to Meet Hurricane Relief Efforts

Nashville, Tenn. – To respond to the American Red Cross’ plea for more blood to help with Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts, Crye-Leike, Realtors is organizing a blood drive on Thursday, October 13, 2005 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at its Mt. Juliet branch office, located at 1285 North Mt. Juliet Rd.

The public is invited to participate, with regular donors and first-time donors encouraged.

“The only source of blood is generous people,” says Gary Rabideau, managing broker of Crye-Leike and organizer of Crye-Leike’s blood drive. “The American Red Cross invites everyone to consider blood donation as a public responsibility.  The right to give blood and save others’ lives comes at 17, and 110 pounds.”

Most people are eligible to give blood.  A mini-physical is given before each donation.  Blood pressure, temperature, pulse and percentage of red blood cells are all checked.  Questions about eligibility can be answered by calling 1-800 GIVE LIFE.  Eating a good meal about 90 minutes before donation is suggested.
