Crye-Leike Expands into Dickson, Tenn. to Support Area’s Growth

Brentwood, Tenn. – Crye-Leike, Realtors is expanding its branch office operations into Dickson, Tenn. to meet the exploding housing growth in Cheatham and Dickson counties, says Harold E. Crye, chief executive officer of Crye-Leike, the nation’s 10th largest real estate company.

Recent research by the Tennessee Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations caught Crye’s attention predicting that Dickson County will increase by 30 percent in population growth over the next 15 years from a current size of 47,000 in 2005.

In response, Crye has purchased a one-acre tract of vacant land on Highway 46 with plans to build a 9,000 square foot office building as the future home of Crye-Leike, Realtors’ Dickson branch office, accommodating up to 40 Crye-Leike sales associates. This new office will bring the company’s branch office count to 22 Crye-Leike branch offices in the Middle Tennessee Region.

Crye purchased the land for $335,000 from Christopher D. Lucas of Dickson. Realty Title & Escrow Services, Inc. closed the transaction on May 2, 2005, and Bank of Dickson provided financing. The property, zoned B-3 highway commercial, is located in Pomona at the main entrance to Dickson off Interstate 40.

“We see opening a Dickson office as a gateway to selling more rural types of real estate like horse farms, farmland and Tennessee River property,” says Crye. “This Dickson office will provide full real estate services all the way west to the Tennessee River as well as service the counties between our Clarksville and Columbia offices to the north and south.”

Those counties Crye-Leike’s new Dickson office will serve include: Dickson County as well as within the surrounding counties of Cheatham, Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Montgomery and Williamson.

Crye plans to begin construction in the next 90 to 120 days. James Civil Engineering of Dickson is serving as the civil engineer. A general contractor has not been identified as this time.

Crye-Leike (, a full service real estate company for 28 years, is the largest serving Tennessee and the Mid-South.

Crye-Leike of Nashville currently has 21 branch offices and one franchise office in nine counties throughout Middle Tennessee in Davidson, Maury, Montgomery, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson and Wilson counties, including Warren County in Kentucky. Crye-Leike of Nashville, Inc. recorded 8,459 units sold in 2004, representing a sales volume of $1.4 billion, up 20.2 percent from $1.1 billion through 2003.
