Crye-Leike’s Jennifer Newton Becomes a Broker

Chattanooga, Tenn. – The Tennessee Real Estate Commission (TREC) recently announced that Jennifer Newton of Crye-Leike Business Development has received her broker’s license after successfully passing the real estate broker licensure examination in December 2004.

To become eligible for the examination, Newton met strict experience and education requirements as a broker candidate. Broker candidates must have held an active license as an affiliate broker for a minimum specified period and must have successfully completed 120 classroom hours of real estate education, 30 hours of which must be an office or brokerage management course taken at a TREC approved school.

Newton is president and director of Crye-Leike Business Development – Chattanooga Region, based in Chattanooga at 1510 Gunbarrel Rd. She established Crye-Leike’s Relocation Division in March 1998 and last year, expanded operations to include business development. The division’s expansion of services, in addition to offering corporate and individual relocations, estate settlements, foreclosures, household goods and international moves, local moves and senior transitions, enabled Newton’s Chattanooga Region to attain over $23.5 million in sales in 2004, representing 129 closed transaction sides.

In addition to attaining her broker’s license, Newton holds the certified relocation professional (CRP) designation from the Employee Relocation Council, signifying excellence in individual, family and corporate relocation policies.

She resides in Chattanooga and serves as a board member of the Society for Human Resources Management, Chattanooga Chapter. As an active member of her community, she is a member of the board of directors for the Bar Auxiliary, which raises money for the Chambliss Home and the Chambliss Children’s Shelter. She is also an active volunteer for Junior League; St. Paul’s Episcopal Church as a Sunday school teacher for pre-schoolers, and the Downtown Chattanooga YMCA where she was previously named Volunteer of the Year.
