Crye-Leike Agents Excel in Marketing Luxury Properties within Greater Memphis Area

Memphis, Tenn. – A total of 33 Crye-Leike sales associates in the Greater Memphis area recently completed a highly-specialized training course on marketing premier properties valued at $400,000 or more.

The two-day course, offered by Crye-Leike, Realtors corporate wide as in-house training for its sales associates, included segments on architecture, appraisal, custom construction, insurance and finance issues. Also included were on-site showroom consultations with interior and exterior design and engineering professionals as well as a bus tour through select neighborhoods and luxury properties that focused on architectural design and the history of the neighborhood.

“We know from Multiple Listing Service records in the Memphis area that Crye-Leike handled four times more transactions than our nearest competitor in the $400,000 plus price range in calendar year 2002,” said Steve Brown, vice president and general manager of Crye-Leike Inc. in Memphis.

Those 33 sales associates who graduated from Crye-Leike, Realtors’ continuing education program on marketing premier properties were:

A total of 436 Crye-Leike sales associates company wide have graduated from Crye-Leike’s Premier Properties Training Program.

Guest speakers at the recent Crye-Leike class included: custom builder Hank Akers; architect Doug Enoch of T. Douglas Enoch Architecture & Associates; appraiser Robert Stephenson, MAI, of Stephenson and Associate Real Estate Appraisers; Lisa Reid, vice president of 1st Trust Mortgage; and Buddy Hill of Crye-Leike Insurance. Showroom consultations were held with Designer Baths & Kitchens of Germantown.

According to regional Multiple Listing Service statistics for the year 2001, listing and selling luxury homes is a small sector of the real estate market in Memphis. The Memphis Area Association of Realtors’ Multiple Listing Service, which represents three counties in the southeastern part of Tennessee, reports a total of 1,034 active residential listings and 486 closed in residential sales over $400,000, representing 3.6 percent of the total 13,411 residential closings in 2001 within that region of the state.
