Construction Begins on Crye-Leike Plaza: New Location for Crye-Leike in Olive Branch
Memphis, Tenn. – Construction has begun on a Crye-Leike business park in Olive Branch, Mississippi, Crye-Leike Plaza, which will include a new location for Crye-Leike’s Olive Branch office. Located in DeSoto County, the new site is three blocks west of Crye-Leike’s current location at 7289 Goodman Road.
The 4.4 acre site, located at the corner of Whippoorwill Drive and Goodman Road, includes the construction of two one-story buildings, built in an “L” shaped configuration, with a total of 26,077 square feet of Class A office space.
Building I will have 11,778 sq. ft. Of that total, 7,800 sq. ft. will be occupied by Crye-Leike’s Olive Branch office. Realty Title will lease the adjoining space. Building II will have 14,299 sq. ft. of available leased space that is zoned retail.
Developers are Harold Crye and Dick Leike, co-founders and owners of Crye-Leike, Realtors. Total project cost, including land and construction costs, is estimated at $3.2 million, with financing provided by 1st Tennessee Bank of Memphis, Tenn. Projected completion date is December 2001.
Architect is Joe Gooch of Memphis, Tenn. General contractor is Priester & Associates of Germantown, Tenn. Civil engineer is Russell & Company of Olive Branch, Miss. Structural engineer is Reaves & Sweeney of Memphis, Tenn. Electrical engineer is Burns Engineering of Bartlett, Tenn. Interior Design is by Rainey Contract Design of Memphis, Tenn.
An outparcel of .80 acres of the 4.4 acre tract remains undeveloped, available for sale and suitable for a bank, notes Crye.
Crye-Leike is seeking professional tenants who will lease 1,500 to 14,000 sq. ft. of Crye-Leike Plaza’s available office space. “Our one-story retail plaza offers accessibility and visibility: drive-up customer parking and street front signage,” said Crye. “Separately installed meters also allow our tenants to control their overhead.”
Crye-Leike’s new Olive Branch location within Crye-Leike Plaza will accommodate 61 sales associates who are serving DeSoto, Marshall, Tate, Tunica, Coahoma, Panola and Quitman counties in Mississippi and Shelby, Fayette and Tipton counties in Tennessee.
“Crye-Leike is building a new ‘tech-smart’ facility, one of the most sophisticated high tech real estate offices in Mississippi and Tennessee,” notes Landis Foy, Crye-Leike’s Olive Branch office manager.
“All work spaces are being designed to accommodate the needs of our independent agents who are tech savvy,” continued Foy. “Each work station and agent office will have computer accessibility to the Internet. Agents will be able to bring their own personal computers or Palm Pilots, or utilize the firm’s computers. A network card will allow the agent’s computer ‘to blend with the Crye-Leike network,’ interacting with the company’s Intranet and Internet.”
