Crye-Leike Agents in Nashville Excel in Marketing Premier Properties: Firm Leads in Luxury Home Sales

Nashville, Tenn. –  Crye-Leike, Realtors announces that eight of its sales associates have been awarded its certified premier properties specialist (CPPS) designation which signifies excellence in marketing higher priced and estate properties in the Greater Nashville area:

Ernie Berkau, Ann Dever, Toy J. Fuson Jr. and Jackie Peters, all of Crye-Leike’s Brentwood West branch office; Colene Dooley of Crye-Leike’s Columbia branch office; Marty Calfee and Gail Wallin, both of Crye-Leike’s Franklin branch office; and, Jan Page of Crye-Leike’s Hendersonville branch office.

Crye-Leike’s Certified Premier Properties Specialist Program, established in 2000, includes completion of a highly-specialized two-day training course on architecture, custom construction, insurance, appraisal, finance issues and interior and exterior design. Sales associates also must meet strict elective and experience requirements, one of which includes selling higher priced and estate properties. Crye-Leike currently has 29 sales associates who have earned its certified premier properties specialist (CPPS) designation.

According to regional Multiple Listing Service statistics for the year 2000, listing and selling luxury homes is a small sector of the real estate markets in Memphis, Nashville and Chattanooga.

The Middle Tennessee Regional Multiple Listing Service, which covers 34 counties in Middle Tennessee, reports a total of 786 active and 803 closed in residential sales over $400,000, representing

3 percent of the total 24,618 residential closings in 2000 within that region of the state. The average sales price for closed listings in 2000 was $597,032.

“We know from Multiple Listing Service records in the Middle Tennessee area that Crye-Leike sold the most units in the $400,000 plus price range in 2000,” said Tom Kimbrough, vice president and general manager of Crye-Leike of Nashville Inc.

The Memphis Area Association of Realtors’ Multiple Listing Service, which represents three counties in the southeastern part of Tennessee, reports a total of 1,010 active residential listings and 381 closed in residential sales over $400,000, representing 3 percent of the total 12,687 residential closings in 2000 within that region of the state. The average sales price for closed listings in 2000 was $565,184.

The Multiple Listing Service of the Chattanooga Association of Realtors, which represents 11 counties in the Greater Chattanooga area, reports a total of 488 active residential listings and 204 closed in residential sales over $300,000. Total closings within this residential luxury market represents

4 percent of the total 4,736 residential closings in 2000 within the Greater Chattanooga area. The average sales price for closed listings in 2000 was $424,440.
