Crye-Leike Agents in Chattanooga Excel in Marketing Premier Properties
Chattanooga, Tenn. – Crye-Leike, Realtors? announces that five of its sales associates have been awarded its certified premier properties specialist (CPPS) designation which signifies excellence in marketing higher priced and estate properties in Chattanooga and North Georgia: George Byrd of Crye-Leike’s East Brainerd branch office; Barbara Howell and Carole A. Sizer, both of Crye-Leike’s Downtown branch office; Jo M. Peckinpaugh of Crye-Leike’s Hixson branch office; and, Kathy Wilder of Crye-Leike’s Signal Mountain branch office.

Crye-Leike’s Certified Premier Properties Specialist Program, established in 2000, includes completion of a highly-specialized two-day training course on architecture, custom construction, insurance, appraisal, finance issues and interior and exterior design. Sales associates also must meet strict elective and experience requirements, one of which includes selling higher priced and estate properties. Crye-Leike currently has 29 sales associates who hold its certified premier properties specialist (CPPS) designation.
According to regional Multiple Listing Service statistics for the year 2000, listing and selling luxury homes is a small sector of the real estate markets in Memphis, Nashville and Chattanooga.
The Multiple Listing Service of the Chattanooga Association of Realtors, which covers 11 counties in the Greater Chattanooga area, including North Georgia, reports that there were a total of 488 active residential listings and 204 closed in residential sales over $300,000 in the year 2000. Total closings within this residential luxury market represent 4 percent of the total 4,736 residential closings in 2000 within the Greater Chattanooga area. The average sales price for closed listings in 2000 was $424,440.
The Memphis Area Association of Realtors’ Multiple Listing Service, which represents three counties in the southeastern part of Tennessee, reports a total of 1,010 active residential listings and 381 closed in residential sales over $400,000, representing 3 percent of the total 12,687 residential closings in 2000 within that region of the state.
The Middle Tennessee Regional Multiple Listing Service, which represents 34 counties in Middle Tennessee, reports a total of 786 active and 803 closed in residential sales over $400,000, representing
3 percent of the total 24,618 residential closings in 2000 within that region of the state. The average sales price for closed listings in 2000 was $597, 032.
