Crye-Leike Introduces New Business Model: Revolutionary to Tennessee Real Estate

Memphis, Tenn. – Beginning the first quarter of 2001, Crye-Leike will transition its existing Memphis-based Total Home Care Club, a vendor referral business, into a new company with a new business model revolutionary to the real estate industry in Tennessee, reported Harold E. Crye, chief executive officer of the 10th largest real estate company in the nation.

The new company, Crye-Leike Home Services, will be a network of home- and family-related services available free to clients, disclosed C. F. Moore, newly-appointed director of Crye-Leike Home Services. A transaction management software system and national network will be used as the foundation for its model.

“Our new business model redefines the process of buying and selling a home, offering a personalized service to simplify homeownership,” said Crye. “It will build a customer for life through technology and will assist the real estate associate in giving the consumer unparalleled service.”

Moore explains how Crye-Leike’s sales associates and customers will work together utilizing Crye-Leike Home Services. “The customer will be in control of the homebuying process through a one-stop service. Each Crye-Leike customer will be assigned a specific Crye-Leike Home Services’ coordinator who is fully integrated into the culture of Crye-Leike and part of a centralized call center. Whether buying or selling a home, registered Crye-Leike customers will receive personal, one-on-one assistance with their relocation.”

“The Crye-Leike Home Services’ coordinator will assist the homeowner with everything from utility connections and disconnects to mortgage financing, moving vans and more. Further, the coordinator will assist the sales associate or the homeowner in securing necessary services such as a home inspection, home repairs or cleaning services. Vendors must qualify with the highest quality. Customers and sales associates also will save money on home and family-related products and services purchased through their Crye-Leike Homes Services’ coordinator by means of special vendor discounts and promotions,” said Moore.

“Every request and transaction made by a client or Crye-Leike sales associate with their Crye-Leike Home Services coordinator is recorded in their personal profile for future reference. Crye-Leike customers also can enter warranty information on their profile as well as scanned closing documents and more,” added Moore.

“The Internet is creating hundreds of new business models [referred to in the real estate industry as real e-state] that are going after the real estate agents’ commissions,” said Crye. “And Realtors? are no longer the purveyor of information; real estate information is now easily accessible on the Internet such as taxes, Multiple Listing Service listings, school information, crime rates in areas and more.

“Crye-Leike is enhancing its Internet presence to ‘move up’ our level of service to our customers because they want us to deliver better services,” said Crye.

Crye-Leike Home Services’ new business model will be beta tested the first quarter and rolled out companywide by second quarter, reports Crye.
